Summer’s Eve

Golden light in the field this evening. In the distance we could hear music from a wedding celebration and nearer home the field with the camper van I blipped yesterday had a scattering of additional campers amidst the grass and trees.

Earlier in the day our visitors went off to do Park Run in Chichester, then returned for pastries and tea. With their energy supplies renewed we all went off to Prinsted for a circular walk which started and finished at the marina. It was a warm and breezy morning so a good one for walking. We enjoyed the sea views and watching the boats coming and going.

We returned home to lunch and soon after we waved goodbye to my sister and her family. They are busy folk so have plans for tomorrow and all of next week which will take them in different directions across the country. It’s been good to catch-up properly especially as my niece embarks a new stage in life this September leaving home to begin a course at college. She’s ready to become more independent and excited about her plans.

The house now feels very quiet but we are both feeling tired and happy to relax in the peace and get the house cleaned and reorganised back to its usual state. Meanwhile Merlin has disappeared to a quiet spot upstairs for a sleep.
