PINING FOR THE PINES

A pine ladybird on the rim of the watering can. My insect book says "very common on pines and other conifers in the S but rare in the N" but perhaps we aren't north enough, or the book is out of date when it comes to the ranges of insects these days. There are no conifers nearby either except our little 18-inch high Christmas tree in a container.

A very sluggish day today with a heavy head and I've got masses to do this weekend, so it's got to be a busy day tomorrow.
