Before sunrise

Just before sunrise at Governors Bay, looking towards the Port of Lyttelton (7.40am).

In extras, the sun appears over the hill just a few minutes later.  

And also in extras, some volcanic rock beside the Governors Bay Foreshore Track.  This gives a clue as to how Lyttelton Harbour was created -  from a collapsed ancient volcano whose crater then filled with sea water.
