What a mess
I started pruning the soft fruit today, and rather than tidy up as I went along - which I usually do - I left it all to be cleared away at the end. Thus the great big mess was created.
It is staying that way overnight and I'll finish it off tomorrow.
Raspberry canes on the right, goosegogs in the foreground, blackcurrants front left, redcurrants back left.
Bean arrived at S&N's this morning with high hopes of a repeat hare encounter, but not one was seen. Nor did she appear to get onto the scent of anything much. I think it must have been a few hours since they were there. But she quartered the paddocks nicely in her vain attempt to flush something out of the pasture.
The most exciting thing that I saw was a pair of Paradise Shelducks coming into land and suddenly seeing the furry one in their landing zone, then applying emergency brakes and flapping manoeuvres to avoid landing right on top of her. Bean took no notice whatsoever, such was her focus on her nose and possible hares.
It's all go with Mima and Bean...
