hazelh auctioneer

We had a family gathering this morning when my middle sister, my brother-in-law, nephew Paddy and Caitlin, and niece Ailish and Danny joined the three of us (me, Mr hazelh and Cousin Ellie) for tea/coffee and brunch. 

While they were all here, we worked our way through a box of pictures and books that the auctioneer recently returned to us. I was in charge of holding up items and identifying any takers (blipped by my brother-in-law). The process felt a little like the joint opening a rather strange Christmas stocking. 

The official business complete, we went indoors for a meal of smoked salmon kedgeree, layered yoghourt pots, and pastries from L'Angelou patisserie in Portobello.

Following the departure of our guests, I taught Azul to Ellie, then the three of us walked across town to meet Ellie's 'god-sister'* Amanda at Blackbird. Mr hazelh and I stayed for one drink then returned home to cook supper.

Ellie was back in good time for our meal, a game of Azul (which she won), and one of Catan (ditto).

*Ellie's father is Amanda's god-father; Amanda's father is Ellie's god-father.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (12,491 steps).
