Ramblings and Mutterings

Glorious

A good night’s sleep and an early morning as I headed across to London to head out to the Hampton Court flower show with my friend Janet. While I waited, I had breakfast in well known chain of London coffee/sandwich shops, which gave me a chance to people watch, and train stations are good for that.

We arrived early and while we waited for the gates to open it was noticeable that the grass was properly burnt because of all this hot weather. It was another hot day, and I was wearing my hat that I purchased two years ago here.

While waiting though I suddenly remembered that I was going to have to avoid one of my most hated things, those blooming plant trollies. And as the day went on, we had a number of near misses with the blooming things. I’d love to know how many accidents St. John’s Ambulance have to deal with because of these stupid things.

As we were one of the early risers it was nice and quiet as we went through to see the show gardens. One of my early favourites was the Alan Partridge Garden, it was very good and funny with Alan’s voice at various part of the garden. Lol!

As we made our way across to the pavilion it was now getting very busy. The good thing about Hampton Court is that it is spread out unlike Chelsea, so even when it does become busy it doesn’t feel claustrophobic.

I was starting to worry about the number of dogs in the show, it was a very hot day and some of the walkways are metal so would absorb the heat. As a dog lover we never want to leave our dogs, but with weather like this and being so out in the open and busy, I don’t think it’s the right place for a dog. A lot of them were panting and looking distressed.

We started to notice that there were a number of Wombles scattered around the showground, so we started to look out for them. You can see some of them in the extras.

On the way back across the bridge we came across Bill and Ben, main blip. They must have been boiling in those outfits. Lol!

We stopped for lunch, and I had some nice fish and chips. They hit the spot perfectly.

It was another great day at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show with my friend Janet; we thoroughly enjoyed it.

In the evening, I headed out to the West End to see The Comedy About Spies, which was absolutely hilarious. It’s the same company that created The Play That Goes Wrong and you just never know what is going to happen. A good workout of my chuckle muscles.

Today I am thankful for:

1. A fantastic day at Hampton Court Flower Show with my friend Janet
2. Delicious fish and chips
3. A great evening at the theatre and a good workout of the chuckle muscles at The Comedy About Spies
