National Sleepy Head Day
a.k.a. my name day (too). Finnish tradition celebrated on July 27th, where the last person to wake up is playfully "awoken" by being thrown into water. In the town of Naantali, this is a more elaborate affair, with a local celebrity being ceremonially tossed into the sea.
Anyway, I spent the day in the garden. Slowly picking up berries and rhubarb and flower seeds. Freezing some and putting others out to dry. There's so much to do all of a sudden. With the heatwave and sunshine, everything is ripening so quickly that it's hard to keep up.
I'm thinking about drying most of the mint this year. We'll see...
I need to start freezing my zucchinis too, as there's so many ready to be picked up. I've used one for lunch so far.
This is another one of my mystery pots. I can't remember what seeds I planted and I don't know what flower this is. If anyone knows the name, please let me know. I really like the look of this one. Very pretty and also seems to be very lasting and on top of that can handle the heat.
