planting
I put my new plants into the border this evening. Dawa had told me that this was the best time to do it, as they would have a nice cool night to settle in :-) Not that it has been especially warm today, but definitely drier that expected. My photo shows a detail of the lovely Thalictrum.
I spent the morning doing housework, preparing for guests who will arrive while I'm away...because I myself am going away at silly o'clock tomorrow morning - a few hours at leisure in London and then on to see Sarah, Chris and Merry. I also did a food shop so that D has supplies to keep him going, and I called in at DG1 for a quick sauna.
Made a risotto for tea, using some more of the broad beans and some purple beans, too, from a plant I bought at the Dunscore Church Plant sale back in early June.
Time to go and pack now - it won't take long as I travel very, very light...except for the raspberry jam I have promised to bring down for my brother!
