Victory for Resilience
Ok, so it's actually a Victorian post box in Cromer that I photographed this morning (for some reason it makes me smile). Wow what a Euros final and so well done to the Lionesses who, to me, achieved victory through showing so much resilience by never giving up and playing as a team rather than depending on one or two star players. It was nail biting as most of their matches have been and went to the dreaded penalties. I am so happy for the team and the manager. I so loved it when Hannah Hampton saved the penalty by Bonmati, the best player of the tournament. So the Lionesses won the 2022 Euros, were runners up in the 2023 World Cup and won the 2025 Euros, with a lot of the same players - I hope some honours come their way, and definitely to the captain Leah Williamson (born and started playing in Milton Keynes (where I lived for 50 years)). And congratulations to the hugely impressive manager Sarina Wiegman. Plus a special mention to the fans who came out in large numbers to travel and support the team and were positive and encouraging all the time.
