After a busy weekend of hosting and entertaining, we paused the cleaning up to watch a bit of the Women's Euro Football final. Mr B is an avid Arsenal supporter, and many of the top players in the Lionesses' belong to Arsenal ladies, he proudly tells me.
I remember loving playing football as child, as did PP the first, but because we were both female and born in certain decades, we never got the opportunity to progress with it.
I find it really encouraging how women's football is finally beginning to get the funding, training and attention it deserves, not to mention the screen-time. I can only imagine that the standard will keep improving.
We let the children stay up late to watch it and both were incredibly excited at the penalty shoot outs! Well done, lady lions! LMB was most impressed at the shininess of the trophy and TYM was just happy that our goalkeeper was wearing green (his favourite colour).
