Dacre Castle
Debs Migraine finally eased today, so we tried a short walk around Dacre & Pooley Bridge. At the start of the walk we always pass Dacre castle, which I've always wanted to shoot in Infra Red, as it reminds me of the cover of the U2 Album The Unforgettable Fire.
As we continued walking we were passed by a number of runners (not going particularly fast) and realised we were on the route of the Montaine 105, a 105 mile run starting in Coniston and continuing through much of the Lakes, - and over many of the fells. I knew I had a couple of friends competing, but thought the chance of seeing them unlikely. But I bumped into the husband of one, and we hung around for an hour to cheer Jane through at the 61 mile point. Sadly Jane had lost one of her dogs only a couple of days before the event, and was in the wrong frame of mind for an ultra, she dropped out at around 70 miles - a massive achievement nonetheless.
