Nicky and her Nikon

Chur

Today it has rained for most of the day. It definitely is a much wetter summer here than we have experienced for the past few years. We decided not to go for a log walk in the rain, and instead drove down the valley to Chur, the capital of this canton and the oldest city in Switzerland.

We had some shopping to do, Gavin wanted to buy some trousers and as most stores are having summer sales he found some at a good price, despite the higher prices one pays for everything in Switzerland. He hates shopping but it was quick and painless. The city was so clean, not a bit of litter anywhere. It was not raining when we were there, but as soon as we got back to Klosters it was raining.

Xena had to go walking in the rain, which is not her favourite thing to do! I think this is the last rainy day for a while, the sunshine returns tomorrow :)

We had a lovely long video call with Adam last night, he was about to go collect a surfboard that he was buying - it was second hand although it was brand new as it was bought as a present for someone who did not want it, and he got it at a great price. He is enjoying the Californian lifestyle very much! Anna has one week left in the UK before she moves to San Diego to be with Adam, so he is very much looking forward to that too.

We are going out to supper with friends tonight - the plan was to sit on the terrace and enjoy the sunset, but that won't be happening tonight.
