American visitors

I have blipped Culzean Castle and Country Park at least once in the last 15 years on Blipfoto.  I worked there as a student and it remains a magical place for me.

It also has an American connection - indeed on the day of Trump's arrival in Ayrshire an actual American Presidential link, as Eisenhower was gifted lifetime use of an apartment in the castle at the end of World War II - a present of gratitude from the people of Scotland.

So it was a good place for a visit with my American cousins, and we all enjoyed the day, including a tour of the castle itself and a walk in the Country Park which (of course)  included the fabulous walled garden.

In the evening we had dinner at The Souter's Inn in Kirkoswald, which I have also blipped before.  The meal was very good but although we saw some small groups of people waiting by the roadside  as we drove back to our Air BnB , we didn't see the Trump motorcade, which was running late....
