Life's Little Moments

Curly

With the phlox and monarda in full bloom now, there are a lot more Hummingbird Clearwing moths in the garden which just lends to the overall fun.  I caught this one coming in with proboscis still curled - the next frame the tongue was fully extended and into the monarda.  And I will put a shot of a perfect Giant Swallowtail in Extra - rare that I find one with both "tails" intact.

I finished the second round of edits to my obedience trial photos and now need to sit down and tag everything so I can upload into trial-specific folders in a Gallery.  That is always a bit of a chore, but makes things much tidier on the other end.

Hubs was up at O-dark hundred this morning to drive to Pocono Racetrack for a track day.  This gives him a chance to get the car up to speed in a relatively safe environment and is good preparation for his next race in September.  Although it is hotter than Hell today, he is having a good time.

As for me, after working on photos in the morning, I headed out to have lunch with a friend.  She is also our estate planning attorney, but we make it a point not to discuss business when we meet for lunch.  It was, as always, totally enjoyable.  When I got home, I checked on all the tiny caterpillars in the nursery (I think there are close to 20 - yikes) and while they are all super tiny right now, in another week they will be much larger and eating like machines.  There are also a lot of eggs and caterpillars in the garden so I have to be careful when I pick milkweed for the nursery that I don't bring in more!

We've hit 90F today and it is humid too so being outside for any length of time is pretty unpleasant.  Every time I go out, Jax wants to come with me, but it's really so hot and he just lays on his bed in the shade and pants...so I I don't stay out long.

If you've not had a chance to look at my backflip from yesterday, do take a peek because Eunice is completely adorable.  And I can tell you from personal experience that while her coat looks wiry, it is actually so soft!

All right, time to make some tea and work on photos!

xoxo
