Colusseum

Tourist trip to Rome - one day we might get past the Colusseum and visit some other attractions, but the teens claimed not to remember visiting last time.  It is always hugely impressive to see, though.

What was also impressive but in a less enjoyable way, was the intense rain and thunderstorm that hit Rome just as we entered the Forum.  The sort of rain that soaks you in less than 30 seconds.  The only place to shelter was under a tree - exactly where you are supposed not to stand in a thunderstorm!  Luckily, we survived to tell the tale.
