Concrete and Glass
The new David Geffen Galleries building at the Los Angeles County Museum of art that will open to the public in April of 2026 was designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. His architecture has been described as “uncompromising and minimalist.” Is the building itself a work of art? I imagine the artworks displayed in the beautiful polished concrete walls with impressive but controlled amounts of light coming from the glass corridors. It looks massive, futuristic, and indeed unique. I can’t wait to go inside. Extra: facade fragment.
