Field of gold

When we were going down to Strichen this morning to walk the dogs, we noticed how this field of barley is gradually changing from green to an orange to an almost white when it will be ready for harvesting. It will then be used for such things as animal feed, bread and alcoholic beverages.
When we were young, we used to put the head of barley down each others neck where it would really itch!
