First dahlia of 2025
The end of July/start of August is the traditional time for the dahlias in our back garden to make their appearance (see my entry of 1st August 2024). If this year's crop they last as well as 2024's blooms, they'll be flowering in the bed outside our spare bedroom window until the end of October. This white one is the first of 2025.
I have only ventured as far as the recycling bins today. After Florence set off for classes and LauraMuir for Glasgow, I settled down to domestic duties (tidying up, laundry), admin catch-up, and cooking ahead. I have also potted some geranium cuttings in the yarden in the hope that they will serve as bedding plants in the back garden next spring.
Florence has had a good day on campus. She has been appointed director of the film that her group of fourteen has to produce for Friday's end of course première event. She complained loudly to us about this, albeit with a great big grin on her face. Mr hazelh and I believe that she is actually very pleased to have been chosen for this role.
Tonight we'll be watching the quizzes that we missed last night (because I was at book group).
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike.
