Riding the train

Lynne invited us to join her on a birthday train outing. This was supposed to be all the way from Arnside to Ravenglass, then the miniature steam railway to Eskdale. Good old Northern Trains decided to cancel the link from Barrow to Ravenglass at the last minute, but undeterred we all drove to Ravenglass and went from there.
The little train runs up a beautiful unspoiled valley, full of trees and Herdwick sheep! We had a great walk up to the waterfall which Bonnie loved, and cake to share which we all loved!
I think Lynne had a good time, but she was trying to manage a group of ten unruly adults all with their own ideas which must have been a bit trying!
Anyway we are all safely home and even had fish and chips on the way back to round things off nicely!
