I’m no baker

I was hosting a camera club committee meeting tonight & they expect tea & cake so I made a reasonable lemon drizzle cake, some poor looking brownies & a disastrous Victoria sandwich. I’m not sure if my tins were too large for the mix but it just didn’t rise - I’ve cut it up & put it in the freezer for puddings with ice cream or custard.
They were complimentary about the lemon drizzle & some had more than one brownie, I did warn them that there was no known antidote.
The meeting went well but I had hoped to show them the views from our house, as usual the weather scuppered the plans & the clouds came in & the rain came down, definitely no sunset this evening.
