Nasturtiums (aka Nasties)
I think I will always grow nasturtiums (partly because they reseed themselves and never go away). They are so bright and cheerful, I can't help but smile when I go out to the garden.
They also provide an important service - they corral the aphids and keep them off of the vegetables. They are called a 'trap plant.'
Some people eat the flowers and leaves - they have a peppery taste. I find them a bit too astringent, but then I'm a picky eater.
