Creepy

As people who love me will attest, it's not rare for me to be called creepy.

It's not something I'm proud of, exactly, but also not something I'm not. It's a skill to create unspoken ill-ease with a facial expression or a particular way of holding the body. As long as it makes people laugh in the end.

Also, I bloody love a bit of weird (hence the image). I also love the concept, common to writing, of the audience knowing something a character doesn't, to make things interesting.

James Corden talked about this in an interview about the Gavin and Stacey finale, saying "if you think that there’s your lead characters, your supporting characters and the audience and at any one point, in any single scene, one of them shouldn’t know what’s going on.” How simple and effective!

So we know the bunny is terrifying, the bunny knows it too but the kid* is having the time of his life! For now.

There's a poetry to this that delights me. Still, each to their own.
