Jiuzhaigou
Visited Jiuzhaigou National Park today and we’re knackered. My Fitbit reckons we walked 24k and my feet are tending to agree. We took the park bus to the furthest point of the park, the Primeval Forest (lots of big, old trees), and then started to walk back on the obligatory boardwalks - if the Chinese tourists weren’t marshalled this way then I reckon the park would be destroyed before you could say ‘Don’t Pick The Daisies’! Anyway, it’s a fantastic place: mountains, fjord-like valleys, ancient forests, rivers fast and slow, marshlands, waterfalls and, most famously, crystal clear lakes of azure blue, turquoise and all shades in between. And that’s just the parts we fitted in today! We’ll be back tomorrow for Part 2.
Couldn’t get our feet to take us anywhere for dinner after that so we’ve dined a-la-local-shop in our hotel on yak yogurt, fresh fruit and (many) assorted beers. Doesn’t get any better than that.
