Life is a Challenge!

WIDE WEDNESDAY - OLD

I felt quite drained and tired this morning when I got up - in fact, I didn’t get up until almost 9 o’clock, so decided that this morning would be spent reading and praying for various situations, which I did, and I enjoyed not having to rush around.

Mr. HCB went off to cricket and before long, although it had rained for quite a long time last evening and in the night, the sky was blue and I decided to have a wander around the garden - see my extra for the various flowers that are still in bloom, together with a shot of one of our Braeburn apples and a couple of insects.

This is a wide view of our garden, which is quite old, considering we have lived in this house for 43 years, but sadly many of the plants have died - although I will have a careful look before we oik them out and put them in the compost bin.  It might just be that the leaves have died and the roots are still OK.  The blue seat was a gift to Mr. HCB on his 60th birthday, so that is quite old too now.  However, if nothing else - and I daresay there will be better “Wide Wednesday - Old” shots - it shows our garden after a very hot summer.

Our grass area is looking a bit sad too, but the pollinators and lady birds are loving it, so we are happy too and at least we have done our bit to help them all.

I did some cooking this afternoon and now am about to sit and read again - I am now on the third of the “Seven Sisters” series, written by Lucinda Riley, who sadly died in - and am reading “The Shadow Sister” by Lucinda Riley - the third book in the series - so have five to go.  They are huge tomes, the one I’m reading is over 600 pages, the next one is over 700 - so you can see why not much housework is being done at the moment!
