The Dragon's Tooth

My blip today is of the Dragon's Tooth, a wooden sculpture on the top of Castle Hill overlooking Cwnclas. This is where we started a ten mile hike that took us over Bwlch-y-Plain, Goytre Hill and onto Wernygeufron Hill before descending past Llangunllo and through Cwm Jenkin. It was raining on the tops so we missed out on some of the best views but still a good walk through sheep country, and not a soul seen all day. Nothing remains above ground of the 13th century Cwnclas castle. Some believe it was built on top of an earlier Iron Age fort and legend has it that it was here that Guinevere and King Arthur were married.
