Farewell Oaklands

Had some rain in the night and early morning but it cleared up nicely to enable us to decamp in the dry and take our leave of this lovely little camp site.  We’ve had a super couple of days here visiting family and the lovely dogs.

Slightly tedious journey home as there had been a serious lorry fire yesterday (I think) on the last bit of  the A14 north, just before it joins with the M1 and M6. The delays today were up to an hour so we took a diversion which took us through some pretty rural villages, one being Naseby where the famous battle of Naseby was fought in 1645, then a short spell on the M1 which very quickly plonked us back on the M6, after which we had a trouble free journey and got home mid-afternoon.

Glad to see the garden has survived so there must have been some rain here too.  We’re both feeling pretty tired so the rest of the day has been a peaceful one.  It’s now 10pm and I haven’t even got round to unpacking,  I’ll  go and do it now and then I’m off to bed.  Will continue trying to catch up with you all tomorrow.
