In Bud & Bloom

Today was the last session of our Homegroup in the house we've been going to for 2 years as the family are moving. Thankfully, another of our members can offer hospitality in future.

There have been 5 Wednesdays this month so we've been to our usual places for coffee and cake. I was delighted to be reminded of a floral art exhibition being held at Rheged on the A66 at Penrith.

After checking that it was OK to take photographs, we went in and I was impressed by this wall of dark flowers on black backgrounds with the glass roses in the foreground. I travelled clockwise around the display, admiring the different types of painting and worked my way round again to these.

To my surprise these were by the only photographer in the exhibition, Kay Minter. I absolutely loved the processing on the white peony tulips in the centre of the picture. At £1,465 it's a bit more expensive than my framed prints.

The £3 entry fee was well worth it. I enjoyed the afternoon.
