Smoke

Southern Utah and the Grand Canyon are experiencing some bad wildfires right now. We are a long ways north, but today we have seen smoke in the air from those fires.  The mountains are a bit hidden behind the haze. 

There was a huge earthquake near Russia yesterday, resulting in tsunami warnings throughout the Pacific. Fortunately the waves were not too bad, and as far as I know no one was hurt.  Our daughter in Hawaii lives at an elevation, so they were out of danger, and I think the island survived without difficulty.
