Best Part Of The Day

The council are fixing up the area right behind my flat. Of course they had to wait till the height of summer to do these essential works and they start at 6:45!

Fortunately they knock off at 2, since it is too hot to continue.

So Duke, Bruno and I are out shortly after 7 for our morning constitutional.  The works mean that we have to cut through the pool area and go out the pedestrian gate, rather than via the garage and straight out on to the track.

Coming back, we pause for a minute or two and sit on the bench surveying the view. Lovely and quiet, with just the grounds staff getting things tidy for the later rush of residents and holidaymakers.

I may go and sit by the pool myself later. I seem to have been so busy these past two months that I have neglected the fact that I am in fact retired and should be relaxing more.

Such is life!
