Dentist visit this afternoon and this is just across from where I parked. The Esplanade car park in Kirkcaldy is widely agreed to be one of the least attractive buildings to ever have been constructed in Fife. I think it dates back to the 1970s and now has the look of a burned out building from some post-apocalyptic world. Back in the days when Kirkcaldy had a thriving town centre, this car park would be very well used but, as is the case with so many towns, the high street is a much diminished place now and with little to attract people to the area, the car park has been almost empty for years. It is now fenced off while a structural survey is conducted with a view to demolishing the building. It will be interesting, or depressing, so see how long it then takes to do something productive with the site. Extra is a contrasting view from Formonthills, in Glenrothes,
