Day out

I visited Bishop Auckland today. I went on the bus as our lane was closed off today for resurfacing.
I wanted to buy some haberdashery bits and pieces, trying to avoid having to buy them online. I was disappointed on that front but I had a lovely walk through the Auckland Palace Gardens and around the walled garden where these flowers were growing.
It's just over an hour travelling on the bus but it was a peaceful pleasant day.
I didn't go into the Palace at all but am considering buying an annual pass, that would be just £24 for my postcode and covers entry to a couple of galleries and museum as well as the palace. It costs £18 for a daily ticket. I just need to decide if I would go more than once.
Still a bit grey and cloudy today but warm at least.
