St. Ignatius Chapel
Today is the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order of priests. Hubby was color guard at the Memorial Mass. Father Bill George S.J., a fellow St. Mary’s County native, said the Mass. We got up in time to have breakfast and be there by 10:30. Momma does not remember but she used to be the lector at this annual Mass. Today, she was just happy to be there. There is no air conditioning, of course. It was at least 90°F inside during Mass. The St. Ignatius chapel sits just outside the Naval base where I spent the first 20 years of my Navy civilian career. We went to Kim’s on the way home. They were heading to the Outer Banks in North Carolina for a week. Hubby is taking care of kitty Shadow and Sunshine the axolatyl. We picked up leftovers and a few things she had for us. I prepared lunch, cleaned the kitchen and the three of us are ready for naps. Dinner is made so we have another relaxing evening ahead. We are expecting storms later tonight. We need the rain. And it is supposed to bring cooler temperatures. Wishing you a nice evening. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “All the things in this world are gifts of God, created for us, to be the means by which we can come to know him better, love him more surely, and serve him more faithfully.” - St. Ignatius of Loyola
