My day so far……August 1st.
I set off on my usual walk, having parked the car, and reached the Farmhouse Bistro after 15-20 minutes.
Sitting in the annex which is attached to the bistro itself, and is like a small marquee space open at one end, I was suddenly alerted to the sound of rain making itself heard on the roof.
It was also rather heavy rain!
I hadn’t thought to check the weather forecast! (Unusual for me).
Maybe it will be a passing shower I thought!
Only it wasn’t at that time.
What could I do?
I had no umbrella with me.
To get soaked or not to get soaked………..walking back to pick up the car.
Then I had an idea……I could ring one of our friends who lives just along the road from us to ask if he could rescue a damsel in distress!
Yes he could, and did, driving round to pick me up and then dropping me off to pick up our car where I had left it!
He had a good laugh.
Since then I went to pick up Stephen from the Cancer Support Centre where he had a meeting with someone, in his counselling rôle.
It is such a peaceful venue, and surrounded on three sides by open country.
This is my blip photo,
After lunch I went up the road to have a cuppa and a chat with the wife of my “rescuer” and himself as well.
He disappeared after a while as he was listening to the Test Match on the radio.
We had a really good natter and catch up and I walked back here just before teatime.
It hasn’t been a cold day, and the garden would benefit from the rain,
I have now picked up from the weather forecasters, that a potential big storm is brewing out in the Atlantic. It is called Floris, and set to hit mainly the North of England, Scotland and parts of Wales.
The rest of us will have very strong winds.
It does really begin to feel like autumn right now,
