Another train trip
We seem to be a little obsessed with train travel! Today is Yorkshire Day so we got the train from Appleby into Yorkshire. The journey I will never tire of, however many times we use it.
We arrived at Saltaire and were met at the station by friends with whom we had arranged to have lunch. So, across the road and into Salts Mill for coffee. Then we went to look at Hockney’s 20 flowers, created on an iPad. We all really liked them. My blip is the one image of all of them - they are set out individually in the gallery.
We did go to the Art Installation which takes up the whole of the top floor roof space - We Will Sing. (See extra) All very strange and we were not quite sure what to make of it. Something to do with memory and imagining it would seem. The figures are blown up images of tiny ‘fèves’ which are figures put inside cakes at Epiphany. Some of these were found in an Antique shop nearby. But what they had to do with the textiles or the mill, I have no idea. I blipped the Hockney instead. I am pleased to see Jeanne didn’t know what to make of it either -https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3377347111245842326
Lovely lunch, a lot of chat and then a walk by the canal or a wander round the wonderful book shop (books were bought - well it is Booker season!). And the train journey home - so preferable to driving.
