Small Copper
When I was in the Brownies one of our camp fire activities was 'Going on a Bear Hunt' ...... today I went on a butterfly hunt.
The numbers spotted in Pollok have been very low so today I headed down to Dumfries House Estate and the Walled Garden in particular. Butterflies love Yellow Ox-Eye daisies and I wasn't disappointed. Not the usual numbers but I did see Red Admiral, Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell.
Then the icing on the cake was spotting this Small Copper resting on a Sedum ....a first for me. It really is a very small butterfly compared to the others I saw today.
