I was delighted that the ladies of my book group didn’t wax lyrical over the choice of the book we were meeting to discuss- Guilty by Definition? I thought I might have been the only one to have consistently nodded off whilst reading but there was one other. In fact there was so little discussion that the cake and coffee were brought on in record time and we were free to indulge in a little light gossip.

I was no sooner home than I was winging my way to Söderberg to meet up with Philip (blipper Tryfan46) and Susan. We actually met in Orkney last year where he is known as the ‘running man’ after he appeared at the slip one morning to seek me out amongst the Selkies. We have met on at least two other occasions when he has been visiting family in this neck of the woods and it’s always fun.

From there it was a hop, skip and a jump to join my neighbours at the Marriott for our TGIFdrinks and a catch up on what’s been happening on the home front  whilst I’ve been away.

Altogether an exhausting day on the social front.

DaughterJane, husband and 2 of her children are travelling to Orkney tomorrow for a week in Birsay. I’m trying not to be envious. Is Envy a Cardinal Sin?
