Fond farewell
This morning, we popped in to the weekly cafe held at our local church hall, to leave a poster about our forthcoming wildlife event. It was very busy there today, and included a group of women cyclists (members of Breeze)who were taking refreshments after an early bike ride. They invited me to join them on a future ride. (Although it is tempting, I have so many pressing matters to deal with, I am trying to avoid additional distractions!)
This afternoon we attended a celebration of the life of a friend, M, who was a longstanding and popular member of our local RSPB group. The service was well attended as M had lived in the city with her husband and family for many years and knew many people. It was held at a lovely venue in Winchester, which includes this beautiful memorial garden, complete with its own stream. Appropriately, a mallard duck and ducklings were dabbling in the water when we came out after the service.
(Much as I like the setting, it's only four weeks since we were here for my Mother's funeral! I hope we won't be back again for a while.)
