Solace Day 1 - The Marina
We came down to the boat today. I didn't do my usual jelly baby pre-trip blip as I had such a lovely day at Levens Hall yesterday.
All is quiet here - now. Earlier a flock of ducks had got very noisy and annoyed by The Man. Well, walking on a boardwalk puts a bit of a bounce into your stride. Now add this to a man carrying a 5' long seat cushion on his head which amplified the bounce. The ducks were not as amused as I was.
We have had calls from our syndicate to replace the seating so we had taken our caravan cushions to see if second-hand ones could replace our plain boat ones. I think we would have to pay a specialist to make something for us. My feet aren't reaching the ground and I'm not comfortable on our better, deeper squab.
Tomorrow comes the exciting bit. For a few days we are joined by experienced boater, Kat, with her novice sister, Rachel, and our 11 granddaughter, Emily.
