Picos de Europa

Today was a day of driving..but still.. how can a 3.45hr drive turn into a whole day. Anyhow, it was mostly a beautiful drive, through the Rioja region, through sunflowers and barley (see extra, taken while stuck in traffic). A lunch stop in the tiny Montorio and on over a big mountain pass, 1,330m, where the main photo was taken at Mirador de Piedrasluengas. The van handled the uphill, which was gradually, and the downhill, which was not gradual at all, very well. 
Anyway we are now in the foothills of the Picos at the very nice Camping de Liebana. As we missed our turn for our food shop opportunity I had to just have pizza at the bar.
