Cosmos puzzle

I dug my pots of Cosmos into the border and watered them liberally before I went away. They didn’t die but they haven’t produced the gorgeous flowers that I’d hoped for. This is as good as as it gets.

And I’m clueless about the visiting moth. Any ideas? Either on my Cosmos or my visitor…

And another mystery. Two silly pigeons seem to have taken root on one of the branches above my bench. They don’t fly off when I approach…and I fear they can’t be bothered to fly …..in the extra.
