Starlings align on a line

I pulled up in my car beside a stone wall to admire the view across the Five Valleys. A flock of starlings descended on this wire on the other side of the single track road.

I only had my phone so just pointed it up to the sky as I liked the framing of the birds against the sky. Seconds later they flew away to a nearby tree and were joined by many more.
