Watch Out Bugs...
Since the Cuban tree frogs came on the scene here in Florida in the 1920's, as stowaways on ships from Cuba and the Bahamas, our native tree frogs' population numbers have drastically declined. But it seems that this little green beauty is making a comeback, at least in our yard. It's a Squirrel tree frog, Hyla squirella, and this one is a baby! It's about the size of my thumb's nail. She and her siblings have hatched out and are hoping all around our yard! She will be about 1.5 inches in length when mature. The Squirrel tree frogs' population is considered 'stable'.
Thought I'd give you a break from my Churchill Trip photos. I still have dog sledding and underwater Beluga whale photos to share. (there...you've been warned!) m
