Lacy’s caves
We were intrepid..
Sheer and rocky were things we
couldn’t do with Ben!
Took advantage of some good weather and less restraint on the footings needed on walks and we did a big 6 mile loop from Long Meg (see extras!!) to Lacy’s caves and back. It was a little on the treacherous side, we couldn’t stop saying we had been right not to do it with Ben and again when we arrived at Lacy’s caves, there’s a pretty sheer drop from the cave entrances into the river. Good job Leo was on lead and Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I decided we were sensible enough to be trusted! It is a funny place though, so out of the way, some 18th century rich colonel had it excavated for entertaining or to keep wine in! I think he probably had too much money (and time) on his hands :-/ The light was fun though through the arches and the long walk made it feel quite satisfying to discover! Leo got very very muddy though, so it was dog bath time when we got home, then lunch, after that I gave up and had a nap! Not much else the afternoon, Mr KCNQ2Haiku had a bike ride and I made some cookies and tried to paint a picture, unsuccessfully.. Now it’s time for a mini walk for Leo, he’s still pretty tired! And there’s a curry in the slow cooker so that should be easy :-) Happy Saturday all!
