Blue Underside, Blue Topside
I rushed out to photograph a Spitfire that I could hear approaching. It was the so-called Stalin's Spitfire painted with red stars which I have captured a couple of times in the past. My pics weren't great. :(
I was looking at them on the computer when I heard another Spitfire coming. A mad dash and I got the above shot. I've never photographed this one before. It's a Mark IX and the only airworthy Spitfire with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 63 engine. It is painted in Mediterranean desert camouflage with a blue underside.
I've added a female holly blue butterfly to extras. I waited ages for her to show the beautiful black edged blue topside of her wings.
