Letting off Steam
What an enjoyable day.
We caught the bus into Hebden Bridge. I bought some new trainers with 50% off in the sale. I’ve been looking for a new pair for months that would suit my plantar fasciitis and these seem just the job. And l had a win on the premium bonds this morning.
We had a drink in a new to me bar, sat in the sunshine and watched a lot of steam punk enthusiasts passing as there was a convenient for them in HB today. I saw this lovely family who readily agreed to pose for me and l was given permission to put this image on this site.
Tim bought a couple of books then we were on the bus going to Todmorden.
We went into another bar and had a drink, an elderflower spritzer for me, very refreshing but a little bit sweet.
I’ve hardly had any alcohol for the past two months and l’ve not missed it .
Had to laugh at the two signs in extras, thought they were perfect for Silly Saturday.
Then we went to a pop up restaurant that Tim had heard about, we were booked in for the 6pm sitting.
Only three tables and only able to seat 14.
Oh my word what amazing food, it was a small menu but we shared three plates and some roast potatoes with pomegranate on a bed of pesto tofu.
We finished off with the panna cotta with strawberries in black pepper and fennel - delicious.
The chef only does these evenings once a month so l hope we can come back sometime.
We caught the bus back and did the Guardian quiz and the all agreed we wanted an early night.
