Hazel
The hazel flowers are out: another sign of the spring to come. They are tiny and quite difficult to spot, but as my 5 year old hazelnut trees grow they are supporting more flowers than ever this year. My apologies for the slightly fuzzy photo...
The extra is of the male flowers: much larger and more obvious.
There was another good frost this morning, so I had a couple of hours in the kitchen, getting on with the next steps in the making of the Orkney Cheese, and then making a lasagne using a bag of minced beef I was given a couple of days ago.
The day has been sun-filled once again, and Bean has been lounging on various decks making the most of it.
I began the fiddly job of dividing and repotting strawberry plants, which was my reward for cleaning the bedroom cabin. I do hate vacuuming...
The tatties are all sorted, and I do indeed have far too many to eat myself. Fortunately my FFL and F are coming down in a fortnight, so I'll be able to send them home with a bucket of them. It sounds as though they are making progress buying R and K's house along the road, and they will be here for a meeting about it, and for another walk round the place to discuss what comes with the sale.
I've not looked at Blip today...oops.
