Mom

We visited with Mom in her room for the first time since we've been away and she is adjusting to her new place very well. She was busy organizing her bureau drawers when we arrived, something she loves to do. She was happy and laughing, which was so wonderful. This has not always been the case, so I try to remind myself when we visit, not to have any expectations. 

We brought her some framed photographs from the boxes I collected at her house. One is of my sister, me & my dad, another one is of her father, and one of mom & her brother taken at our wedding. I also brought a framed piece my sister and I gave mom one year for Mother's day. Kathy wrote a rhyming poem called The Amazing Mom and I added my art done with rubber stamps. Mom had it on her wall at her home. I walked in and said we had brought her a few things to brighten up her room. When she saw the photo of her with her brother, she said, oh that's one of my favorites. :0) I will add a few extras...one of a pillow Steve and I found and gave her a few months ago. It's screen printed and looks much like Beda. Mom is impressed with the detail of this pillow, we are too! The minute we saw it, we knew we had to get it for Mom.
