Not a sunflower, instead a compass plant. So called because it's leaves align with the compass points, supposedly allowing early settlers to navigate across the prairie. A giant, reaching 6-12' in height, with a tap root going down up to 14', it can take several years before flowering. We'll have to see how this specimen progresses.
