Butterfly Sunday

We have been to RSPB Loch Leven in the Spring, Autumn and Winter but never in summer so I thought it would be good to go there today to hopefully see lots of butterflies in the wildflower meadow. We arrived at 09.30 and it was very windy, no butterflies, no birds, and no people either! We had been into all three hides and were making our way back to the visitor centre an hour later before we saw any other person!
Fortunately there is a buddleia bush just outside of the visitor centre which had lots of butterflies: Peacocks, Red Admirals and one Comma butterfly which I was very pleased to see and blip, sharing a branch with a Peacock. As I was going through my photos, I was intrigued by the strange ‘beefrog’ flying through the air close to the Red Admiral, I’ve never seen a bee with frogs legs before so have added it as an extra!
