Light leak

I have been experimenting a little with cameras today.

In all the fun yesterday, I took my lumix lx-100 to the pub, hoping to capture a few good pictures and test out the low light capabilities inside the pub and in the evening light. However this mission failed entirely, due to my forgetting to put the memory card back into the camera when at home - it couldn’t save any pictures at all! Oh dear.

I’ve since tried out the (quite old but still vaguely working) app that comes with the camera, so I can remote-control it from my phone, and transfer photos from the camera onto the phone easily. Hopefully this may mitigate lots of transfers between memory card and computer - making it less likely for me to forget to put the card in next time. This can never fully be sorted though, I am sure I will mess up again soon!

It’s been 3 days in a row with lots of busyness going on and long days. Although they have been great, I am also wiped out and feeling under the weather as well as tired!

Last night there were no taxis for my way home from the train - usually there’s a good 20-50 on a rank by the station, but as it was Reggae Land festival, everything was booked and elsewhere. The ride-sharing app also had no availability nor did the local taxi app. However I was luckily just in time for the last bus of the day - a very lucky feat, as the bus runs once per hour after 8pm!

During the bus ride, it transpired couple of bus-riders from Wolverhampton had booked a hotel in the next town over, but the last bus only goes part of the route. So these pair would need to walk a good 40 minutes in the dark to get to their hotel! Arrangements were being made with the driver and the bus controller to see if they could drop the errant travellers a little closer to their lodgings. It was nice to see people coming together to help out others.

Also a yesterday evening observation, but after a certain time of the evening, the trains become much slower, stopping more frequently and taking more than double the usual time to my stop. The train I got was quite busy, and a couple of parents were aboard in a wider family unit. One family had older kids, one family just had one young child. The youngest one was being patient most of the way home, but was screaming towards the end of the train ride - both parents were sat with the child but were ignoring the screams and the child and continuing with their conversation about the plans for the week. The child was looking over to me a little bit and he got into a looking at each other and smiling and waving conversation - which concluded quite quickly as we all got off at my stop, along with most of the other passengers. Still. It was a nice moment to witness.

I also remembered that, as well as this histamstic fun, my camera does multiple exposure photographs too - I need to take that for some experimentation soon! I do love the weird and creative things you can get up to.

Today’s blip is just that. An interior light reflection, and some art.
